CHIP Youth Project sees HIV prevention and outreach as a critical social justice issue. It is our goal to not only share information from our institution and the larger medical community about breakthroughs in treatment, care, support and education but to work hard towards reducing barriers that may prevent people from potentially engaging with us. We work diligently alongside key agencies and organizations and community members to present our services in innovative ways that are responsive to the needs of communities we serve.
We are involved in community mobilization and advocacy by having our staff involved with a variety of boards, steering committees, coalitions and community groups. We strongly believe in working alongside and with many different segments of our larger community to improve overall health outcomes for but not limited to Youth, Women, Infants and Children, Incarcerated Persons, LGBTQ, Communities of Color and any group that experiences marginalization.
CHIP offers free, confidential rapid HIV testing to anyone who would like it. We currently use test kits that provide results in 20 minutes. When additional testing is needed in the case of an HIV positive test result for example, we also offer confirmatory testing via a blood draw on site. You can set an appointment for testing by calling 720-777-2604.
CHIP also offers free, confidential HIV testing for youth in the Denver Metro Area and Colorado Springs in partnership with the following agencies:
